North Ink Tattoo Studio is a bespoke tattoo studio dedicated to creating meaningful, custom-designed tattoos. The brief provided by its founder, Kerri was to create a logo that reflected the modern, individual, and artistic experience offered whilst also honouring the deeply personal roots of the name and concept.
My focus was to create a strong typeface, creating a cohesive and versatile base to build multiple design features from. From here working closely with Kerri, we incorporated three vines inspired by Kerri’s own drawings and tattoos, representing three years since her son, North passed away. Another detail to this design is the star, which I created using sections of the ‘N’, again building a strong sense of cohesion and unity.
My goal for North Ink, was to create a logo that blends modern aesthetics with traditional tattoo artistry, reflecting the studio’s commitment to personalised, meaningful tattoos. Designed for a predominantly female audience, the logo honours both Kerri’s artistic vision and the legacy of North.
